Windhoek To Etosha South National Park

We will pick you up from Windhoek and visit Namibia’s premier tourist attraction—Etosha National Park! Etosha is one of the world’s largest game parks, extending more than 350km from east to west. The wide-open plains, numerous waterholes, and a large number of game (estimated at 200 lions, 16 000 zebras, 7000 oryx/gemsbok, 2500 elephants, 3000 giraffes, 600 black rhino, and many other species) makes visits to Etosha National Park very rewarding. First, you will do an afternoon game drive through the park, visiting waterholes looking for predators and their prey, zebra, giraffe, elephant, rhino, and many different species, before sunset.

Windhoek To Etosha National Park Drive

The drive to Etosha will take about 4 to 5 hours, but it is a fantastic way to get to know the â€œlie of the landâ€ here in Namibia. We will pass through Okahandja before passing close to both Okonjima Nature Reserve and the Waterberg Plateau National Park. The next town we go through will be Otjiwarongo, one of the fastest growing towns in Namibia and home to a large population of German-speaking people. Next up is Outjo in the Kunene region of Namibia.
We will make a few stops along the way to stretch our legs and have a bite to eat. We will reach our lodge just outside the Andersson gate in the afternoon, and if there is time we will go for a short game drive inside the park.

Day 2: 30-Apr-2026

Etosha South to East Game Drive

We have another full day to enjoy Etosha today, but we will also slowly make our way to the eastern side of the park, where we will overnight on our night of the safari.

Etosha has become one of the main reasons visitors from all over the globe come to Namibia, and annual numbers are over 200,000. Although Etosha is best known today as a spectacular refuge for an abundance of animals, it is also a part of the world that is providing critical evidence for the existence and evolution of ancestral animals. The rocks in the hills near Halali camp have revealed fossil life as old as 650 million years!

We will arrive at our accommodation in the late afternoon, freshen up and enjoy dinner together.

Etosha East is a protected sanctuary in the eastern part of the world-renowned Etosha National Park, known as one of the most accessible game reserves in Southern Africa. Etosha East boasts vast open plains scattered with semi-arid savannah grasslands dotted with watering holes and secluded bush camps. An impressive 5000-square-kilometre Etosha salt pan makes up a large area of the eastern side of the park and can even be seen from space. This remote area teems with abundant wildlife such as lions, elephants, black rhinos and giraffes, as well as a variety of birdlife featuring flamingos, ostriches, eagles, hornbills, and owls.

Day 3: 01-May-2026

Full Day Etosha East Game Drive

From one side to the other side of the park is a full day game drive as you head slowly east stopping at numerous waterholes along the way
Take a slow drive in the morning and then enjoy a packed lunch (optional extra) overlooking one of the waterholes before continuing on through the park to the eastern side
1 full day is set aside for game viewing, either all day or alternate with morning and afternoon guided drives

Etosha to Hosea Kutako International Airport

After breakfast, we greet Etosha and depart for Windhoek. It is a 5 to 6 hour drive southwards to the capital. You will be dropped off at the Hosea Kutako International Airport for your homeward flight.
