At the park’s heart is the Great Ruaha River
The Great Ruaha River as other rivers like Mwagusi, Jongomero and Mzombe save as the life line of the park. During dry season, these rivers become mostly the main source of water for wildlife. There are few natural springs saving the same purpose.In the pick of dry season, elephants obtain water from dry sand rivers using their front feet and trunks. The remaining water falls along the Great Ruaha River are also important habitat for hippopotamus, fish and crocodiles.
Converging with the Great Ruaha are hundreds of sand rivers, natural game corridors when dry and sparklingly clear streams when wet. Waterbuck, impala and the world’s most southerly Grant’s gazelle risk their lives for a sip of water – the shores of the Ruaha are a permanent hunting ground for lion, leopard, cheetah, jackal and hyena. Ruaha’s elephants are recovering strongly from ivory poaching in the 1980’s and remain the largest population in East Africa. Ruaha represents a transition zone where eastern and southern species of flora and fauna overlap.
The park being rich of plants and animals such as Greater Kudu (Tragelaphus strepsiceros) which can not be found in any other national park, she boasts of her almost untouched and unexplored ecosystem, making visitors’ safari experience very unique.

Full Day Ruaha Game Drive
You'll enjoy having your picnic lunch in the park as you take some rest. Thereafter, you will continue with the game drive till evening. Driving along the Great Ruaha River, expect to see animals that include but are not limited to buffaloes, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, impalas, warthogs, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, greater and lesser kudu, sable and roan antelopes, different birds, plants and reptiles species. You'll return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

The Hadzabe are a small ethnic group of hunter-gatherers who have lived in Tanzania for thousands of years. They still maintain their traditional way of life, hunting with bows and arrows and gathering wild fruits and roots. Spending time with the Hadzabe provides a rare opportunity to learn about their ancient customs and beliefs, which have been passed down from generation to generation.

Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive to Arusha for flight to Dar
Take in the breathtaking views of the crater's unique landscape, which is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, cheetahs, and gazelles. You will also have the opportunity to witness the famous hoppo pool, a popular watering hole for the animals, while enjoying a delightful picnic lunch.
After your exhilarating game drive, you will begin your journey back to Arusha Airport, a scenic drive of approximately three hours.
