Vumawimbi Beach

Stepping onto Vumawimbi, you may need to rub your eyes to check you haven’t gone to heaven, so idyllic is the view. Vumawimbi is one of the best place to relax, has brilliant white sand beache lapped by the warm turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean which provide the perfect place to relax, soak up the sun and take a break from some busy sightseeing. This wonderful beach is situated some 55km from Chake Chake, stretching along the eastern side of the Kigomasha Peninsula, and north of Ngezi Forest Reserve.Vumawimbi Beach is currently regarded as the longest beach in East Africa with beautiful white sand.


This isolated stunning site is found in Micheweni District. Not many outsiders come here, as all the hotels are on the west side. Vumawimbi Beach has now become one of the most popular sites for picnics and day trips among the local people and tourists in Pemba island. With good Resorts on the peninsula’s west shore and the beautiful palm-fringed stretching along the east at Kigomasha Peninsula in Pemba’s northwestern corner, Micheweni now is one of the best places to stay.
