Touch The Roof Of Africa - Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

THE BIG DAY!

Very early in the morning, between midnight and 2 am, we embark on the challenging ascent to the summit, navigating between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers, and climbing through heavy scree to reach Stella Point. Here, we'll rest briefly to witness a breathtaking sunrise before the final snowy ascent to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the continent of Africa. After the summit, we descend swiftly to Mweka Camp, stopping at Barafu for lunch, and enjoying our last evening on the mountain, with gaiters and trekking poles recommended for the loose gravel descent.

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Arusha

After breakfast and a heartfelt farewell with your crew, we descend to the Mweka Park Gate to receive your summit certificates. The warmer weather makes the terrain wet, muddy, and steep, so gaiters and trekking poles are recommended.

At the gate, your guide will drive you back to your accommodation. Enjoy a hot shower, dinner, and celebrations!
