Pom Pom Private Concession

The Pom Pom Concession (NG27A) is a private wilderness area of approximately 400 km² located in the heart of the Okavango Delta, Botswana.



It lies on the western boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve and is centred around the headwaters of the Xudum River system—a location where water and desert meet to create one of Africa’s richest safari ecosystems.





Key Highlights



Terrain & Habitat: The concession encompasses a mix of floodplains, palm-island systems, riverine forests, and dry woodland—all of which provide year-round diversity in both land and water-based safari activities.





Wildlife: A high-quality game-viewing area. Resident large mammals include elephants, giraffes, red lechwe, wildebeest, zebra and impala. Predators such as lion and spotted hyena are regularly seen; cheetah and wild dog occasionally. Leopard are noted to particularly enjoy the woodland habitat here.



Birdlife & Water Activity: Because of permanent and seasonal water, the birdlife is rich (including fish-owls, raptors, kingfishers) and activities such as mokoro (dug-out canoe) trips, boat cruising and fishing are offered when water-levels allow.





Exclusivity & Access: As a private concession (not open to self-driving public vehicles) it offers off-road drives, night drives, walking safaris and a higher level of exclusivity. Access is typically by light aircraft from Maun.
